Microsoft releases Windows 7
If your company put off or delayed a technology upgrade to Windows Vista then now is the time to start rethinking that upgrade, but not to Vista. On October 22, 2009 Microsoft released the much anticipated Windows 7, the newest desktop operating system from Microsoft. After extensive testing we have found Windows polished and extremely stable not to mention that it runs faster than Vista and XP even on older hardware. We installed Windows 7 on a desktop and laptop running the most latest hardware, and on a desktop that is running hardware that is nearly 3 years old and were amazed with the results. On each of the systems we installed a wide variety of software from Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, McAfee, Trend Micro, Web Applications, VPN Clients and many others. We were amazed to see the results; nearly every piece of software ran perfectly without errors. Of the ones that were not compatible they failed during installation and installation of updated software versions or patches cleared up the installation issues. The Aero theme in Windows 7 is great two new additions are Aero Shake and Aero Snap. Aero Shake allows you to shake the top bar of the window and automatically minimizes all of the other open windows allowing the user to quickly minimize all other windows for easier access to the desktop. Aero Snap is very beneficial for users that need to view two windows side by side, it allows you to drag a windows to the side of the screen and then automatically sizes the window to half of the screen and then you do the same second window at the other side of the screen and viola you have two perfectly sized windows side by side. Microsoft has also simplified home networking with “Home Group” all that is required is to go through a very easy to use wizard on the first computer and then it generates a Home Group password that you input on all of the other computers and your computers are automatically networked and setup for sharing. All in all we have to give Windows 7 a big thumbs up, the interface is clean, it is compatible with nearly all software that runs on Windows XP or Vista and the performance is great. If you passed on Windows Vista we don’t blame you, but now is the perfect time upgrade to Windows 7. See us at www.adaptive-net.com for more information.
